S’mores Brownie Bars

So, I mentioned last week that I had a potluck at work. It was sooo good. I wanted to bring something new. I found this recipe online at www.seriouseats.com There are a lot of amazing recipes on that site. Don’t go if you’re hungry…

Cause you will. Eat it all.  Or take it somewhere like I did, to keep you to one serving. I actually went back for more and it was gone. Phew.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake

This is the another star of the show from my big Saturday breakfast with the parents. It always goes over well. I figured that since it’s so good, and fairly easy, I would make the mix for another batch and store it. That way I can whip it up fast for the kiddos before school, or fast to take in to work some morning.

Also, I got this recipe from my mom and haven’t changed it one bit. My mom has THE BEST recipes. Ever.

Cheesy Broccoli Rice

When my sister and I were little, my mom would occasionally make Cheesy Broccoli Rice. It was one of our favorite things. She would load it with cheese and it would be an ooey gooey mess. We went crazy for it.

Today was one of those easy days. The girl had a friend stay the night before and the fireman got up early with them to fix them breakfast. I slept in a bit, since I had been busy with them the night before. Ushering them to bed around midnight….I know, I’m a softy.

They were doing make-up! That’s like, totally important. And I had chocolate chip cookies in the oven. I will admit they were the break and bake kind, though…not homemade.

A Little Green Swirl

6 months or so ago, I was reading a book that my neighbor lent me, Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown.  Good book, by the way. Different from most books, but in a good way. I kind of enjoy something different now and again. Anyway, the cover of the book had this cool swirly, viney, leafy thing. I’ll post a picture below of it. I liked it so much, and thought I could do something with it, but didn’t know what. So, I took a picture of the cover and threw it in with my ‘painting inspiration’ folder. (more…)
